One of the most media-present infrastructure projects of the last months in Gdańsk is the Droga Zielona (Green Road) investment. It connects and divides during the discussion, touches plenty of various threads, businesses and ideologies, which as a result led to a stalemate in public debate. This work also takes position in the issue, but without taking any of the sides that appeared in the discourse so far. This is the effect of a substantive observation of the public dispute. By examining the Droga Zielona case, and taking into consideration the functional road collar within the Coastal Strip area, the work introduces a kind of novelty, and basing on that asks questions about the future of this part of the city. The author poses the questions that have not yet been posed in case of building the development vision of the whole area, and raises the issues that were omitted in politically dominated discussion. Moving from the city to street scale, this work in an intelligible way presents the whole spectrum of the urban space’s issues. Using the planning and technical tools, while referring to the matters of economics and theory of the city, this study leads to three design solutions. By adopting a different system of the urban space values, they show three diametrically different development directions with their economical and spatial consequences. Finally, the work does not lead into one proper solution, which is to show how dependent they are on the adopted boundary conditions.

During the last fourteen years amount of the Internet users increased more than 7 times – to 3035,7 million people in 2014. In North America around 87,7% of the population have access to the Internet, whereas in Europe it reaches nearly 70,5%. The Estonian government decided that being connected is one of the most important human rights nowadays. In consequence Estonia spent 2-7% of their budget developing broadband Internet connections and e-administration tools, as well as for effective social dialogue improvement.
